I met some Fantastic people Thursday night / Friday morning—engaging, full-of-life people, because I did something I’d never done before. I went to the midnight showing of a movie!
We arrived at the theater at 9:30 p.m. to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Everyone was lined up, sitting on the floor, since the theater is inside a mall. People laughed, played card games, laughed, chatted, and laughed!
We joined the crowd and waited until around 11:00, when we headed for our seats with an hour to go before the movie started.
Once we found a good spot, it was a blast being part of the revelry. Some girls in front of us sang Happy Birthday to one of their friends. People cheered and clapped. Then a few minutes later, several rows in front of us, half a row of movie-goers burst out singing Happy Birthday to a girl in their group. The two girls wished each other a Happy Birthday!
A whole family—Mom, Dad, boys and girls, even a baby—came all dressed up as pirates. The kids ran across the floor and did cartwheels at the front of the theater.

While we were waiting in line and after we found our seats, I asked several people if they would be willing to answer a question for my blog. They were all enthusiastic and happy to help—well, except for one hesitant guy who said, “I guess so, sure,” but he answered my question! And then he asked me if I had a piece of gum. I begged one off my son and gave him his wish!
